“ Cute little Shanty by the Sound. I really liked the ice cream. They have a soft serve machine that makes 24 ice cream flavors and you can add candy or mixtures in it like a Blizzard. The restaurant was a cute like shanty with outdoor sitting under a canopy. We ordered rhe lobster roll. The lobster roll meat wasn't the best but it's been a long time since my husband had the roll anywhere. It seemed a little chewy but it was my first time having a roll or possibly lobster. Cole slaw was decent. The bread was good. Fries were thinner than string fries but had a crispy taste. Cost wise the ice cream was a superb deal. Great price and a lot of ice cream and candy filling. Can't go wrong here for ice cream. Didn't know how expensive lobster was until this sandwich. The sandwich is priced by market for lobster . ”
“ I fell due to cracks and lifted cement on the ground. Was told I should be understanding because the establishment is 60 years old. They did not have accident reports and i was offered a bandaid. I will not recommend this place in the future. ”

“ I am starting this with a side note. Once in a while, you are served by someone outstanding. Someone who loves their job and is truly great at it. Today, for me, this was Parker. Super personable and super helpful. A definite people person who can immediately build a rapport with the customers. This is only my second or third trip to Fred's. The last time was probably 25 years ago. It was a bit of a drive from Hartford, but I am so glad I made the trip. If you have never been, you HAVE to go. The food, service, and location are all fantastic. As you can see in the photos, there is a good variety of food options, and it overlooks the docks. Coincidentally, they have MONDAY LUNCH SPECIALS, so my burger, fries, and small beverage was only 8 and some change! Therefore, I followed it with a raspberry shake for the ride home. :) This is a place you will want to return to again and again! ”
